Mamma mia, ever since I spotted this DVF Tonda clutch (yes yes its a vegetarian bag – no leather, no animal skin), I’d been fixated to have it in my closet. Diane von Furstenberg (DVF) unfortunately does not have a store in India yet, and Kitsch that stocks DVF in Mumbai did not have this green tweed-ish Tonda.
I’ve never ordered a luxury bag online before (spending that much on a bag that you haven’t seen in person,, hmmm .. not sure). But what the heck, I don’t know when will I be travelling, so one fine day I finally ordered it from matchesfashion.com and the moistened lips anticipation ended when the postman finally arrived with the parcel. I hurriedly opened the package and jumped, and jumped and jumped some more (lol, not literally). I was delighted at the sight of the bag and incredibly excited for adding a little colour into my bags, most I have are black, black, black and occasional blues.
The simplistic rectangular shape of Tonda opens with the same shaped clasp and looks elegant and classy. The colour: divine and versatile – green but not too green (its intermixed with black).
DVF Tonda is high on style and relatively inexpensive compared to other designer brands. Having said that, a little disappointed on the hardware quality and design. The detachable metal sling and its hardware did not give the luxe feeling – the design was not well-thought.
Regardless, couldn’t be happier with this purchase, the colour pop is just itching to be carried to all the upcoming affairs – splash of green will pep up the autumn and winter wardrobe as well.
I am already planning the outfit around it – keeping the rest of the gear simple and painting the town green with my hands. Or maybe a colour clash to stand out or adding a pop of colour to a simple white tee and jeans. There are so many ways to wear it — carrying it through day, dressing up for the night. It’ll surely ensure I stand out!!!
