Hourglass Cosmetics: Luxury Vegan-Friendly Makeup Brand – A Review

I’ve been getting a lot of questions about luxury vegan makeup, so I thought of sharing one of my favorite brands.

Travelling is the best way to explore the world, learn new cultures and broaden your horizons. It is also one of the best ways to discover amazing products. Last year on my trip to London, I visited by all-time favorite shopping spot – Liberty of London; they have a crazy amazing beauty department, one of the best in London, and have many vegan-friendly brands. I’ve been dying to get my hands on some really high-performance and luxury skincare {quality beauty is one of my weakness} and that’s when I discovered Hourglass.

As a habit, I emailed the company inquiring about their animal-free policy and was glad to get a quick response informing me that they have a good selection off vegan-products and also provided the vegan product list.

Hourglass is a luxury makeup brand, so of course the prices are steep. But the great performance and beautiful packaging totally makes it worth it.

Hourglass is a 100% cruelty-free brand and do not sell in countries that requires animal testing either. Animal Testing Policy listed on their website says:

“As a cruelty-free brand, Hourglass does not incorporate animal testing into our development phase or at the production level. We do not provide authorization to any third parties to perform animal testing on our products. In addition, Hourglass does not retail within any country that requires animal testing.”

HOURGLASS OPAQUE ROUGE LIQUID LIPSTICK REVIEW

One of my favorite vegans lipstick, Hourglass Opaque Rouge is a liquid lipstick that dries into a smooth matte. Their doe applicator is easy to use and glides on easily {I’m not very good with makeup and when I say it’s easy to apply, trust me it is}. Some reds get weak, but these stay on point color-wise. It has a really pigmented formula that wears insanely long. However, you need to hydrate your lips with a lip balm before and also pat some balm after the application as it can feel bit drying after a while. Not only is this lipstick vegan but it also has some great ingredients like cili fruit and goji berry extracts that offer anti-oxidant protection and also Vitamins A, C and E. This comes in 8 colors but the classic true red is just divine. It’s the perfect deep red that would suit every complexion.Free of parabens, sulfates, glutenDoes this: anti-aging, nourishes and provides intense, long lasting lip color100% vegan and cruelty-freeShop Hourglass Opaque Rouge Liquid Lipstick in Classic True Red for $28

HOURGLASS AMBIENT® LIGHTING BLUSH REVIEW

It’s a gorgeous blush that comes in a swirly, sand art like form with absolutely no chunk of glitter – just the way I like. It’s actually handmade and allows to build color – so I use just a little for a soft natural look for the day and build it up for the evening. The texture is velvety smooth and I love the fact that it’s free from nanoparticles and harmful unnecessary fragrances.

Free of parabens, gluten, fragrance, nanoparticles, talc

Does this: delivers gorgeous pigment on cheeks and perfect radiant effect

HOURGLASS VEIL FLUID MAKEUP REVIEW

For my super sensitive and combination skin, this foundation feels just right. It is a oil free formula and wears long, doesn’t cause any breakout and leaves the skin looking very natural and fresh. The foundation really blends well, I use my fingertips most of the times,  and makes my skin look really sooth and even.

Love the fact that it comes with a SPF so I don’t have to wear multiple layers under the skin.It comes in 11 shades.

Free of parabens, sulfates, gluten, fragrance, nanoparticles, oil, phthalates

Does this: Delivers seamless even coverage, sun protection, anti-aging, lines minimizing, covers and illuminates

HOURGLASS AMBIENT® LIGHTING PALETTE REVIEW

This is one of their best products, truly. The powders provide the smoothest luminescent glow, blurs away imperfections and delivers a natural looking soft look. They blend and sit on the skin beautifully and doesn’t cake. Comes in a sophisticated and luxurious bronze color packaging and has a large mirror for touch-ups.
