I don’t think autumn has arrived yet in Mumbai, but I was in an autumn mood. Mumbai summer sucks!!!! As much as I love dressing up for summers, I kind of miss the Autumn feel in Mumbai. The transition from summer to winter is my most anticipated time of the year.

I dug out this tartan shirt from my closet and a wonderful knit bag I haven’t worn since ages. This tartan checked shirt made its way into my wardrobe a few years ago during a shopping trip to London. It’s a delish piece, but didn’t get a chance to wear it more than once. Paired it with my black jeans, which I cuffed till the ankle (can’t really make out the fold in the picture) and added my platform heels.

And where did I go?

My Sunday started with an architecture exhibition at Balwant Seth School of Architecture in Juhu. The only time I ever visited an art-related exhibition was in my university, dragged by a friend. I was the most observant person with that look on the face ‘hey I am a serious art aficionado, DND’. But the truth was, I trying to make sense out of the pieces, which were all Latin to me, and was wondering, why am I here?

How did I land here? Again a friend, but this time I totally loved it. The architect-to-be created these most beautiful pieces as part of their project which required them to create installations representing skin structure of various animals and plants. Friend’s cousin who was a part of it was kind enough to explain the structures in detail and what went into making it, which made sense.

First time I thought, architecture is just as serious as finance. The thought that goes into it is mind-boggling.
Here’s the chameleon………….

and the armadillas…

Ahh, I thought of giving this picture an autumn feel. Sod it, I will just imagine it in my mind. I remember when I used to live in England and in autumn the trees would start to change color, they would turn red, orange and yellow and the the whole city would look like the most beautiful postcard.

Sunday also yielded a little shopping spree. Visited Mango (sale at this time of the year? I hate Mango sales, its a mad house during sale), Nine West and Rohit Gandhi+Rahul Khanna’s Cue at Bandra.

I liked a bag and shoes from Nine West. As much as I love sling backs, especially the heeled black ones, the square on the front was too big for my petite frame, it looked overwhelming on my feet.

Loved this bag though and bought it. Badly needed a nice black bag. What I loved about it was, despite being small, it was quite roomy. Can’t wait to wear it!!!

I am seriously in love with autumn and dressing up for the season. No worries, I will go against Mumbai weather to please myself, what are ACs for?

🇳🇱Netherlands now officially recommends reducing meat consumption, cutting cheese intake by half, and increasing plant-based proteins.

Why? Because food choices impacts m our health, and also the climate.

And the shift goes beyond advice….. Amsterdam has even banned meat advertisements in public spaces to encourage lower-emission food choices.

A fascinating example of how climate policy is increasingly showing up in everyday life. 🌱

What can we do?
Let’s ditch animal foods and embrace a plant based diet. Compassion + health

Thought cruelty-free meant no harm to animals? Thought you were buying ethical? Think again 😬😬

👉🏻 There’s a difference brands won’t tell you — 🐰 #crueltyfree doesn’t guarantee no animals were harmed. A cruelty free product can still have fish oil, bug juice or other animal ingredients.

You need to make sure the products you’re buying are both Cruelty-Free & #Vegan!

Let us get back to basics - slow living, clean (#plantbased) eating, buying what we need, ♻️ reusing-repurposing-recycling, treating food as medicine, less screen time and more living, connecting with nature, 🌎 giving planet the respect it deserves!

Because #EarthDay is everyday.

don’t travel solo…
“you’re married, go with your husband” — We’ve all heard this before…
but here’s the truth… solo travel hits different.

you reconnect with yourself, travel at your own pace, do things you love {and finally do everything you wanted to but was always pushing it back}, 🍰 eat what you want (all those vegan desserts without anyone watching you ☺️🙃), talk to strangers (a lot), sit alone without feeling weird ….. and somewhere in all that, you meet yourself.

scary? Not at all.
worth it? every single time. ✨
